DPM Visits Sarawak Premier, Expresses Condolences Over Passing Of The Late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang

KUCHING: A sombre atmosphere enveloped the official residence of Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg following the passing of his beloved wife, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang at the age of 76.

The late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani breathed her last at 3.34 a.m. earlier today at Normah Medical Centre here.

Her passing is deeply felt by Sarawakians and leaders who knew her as a calm, dedicated figure who always stood by and supported her husband’s leadership.

Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Patinggi Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was among the earliest prominent leaders to visit the Sarawak Premier this morning to convey his condolences.

He was received by Chief Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier, Dato Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman at 9 a.m. amid a sorrowful atmosphere filled with close family members and friends.

Datuk Patinggi Dr. Ahmad Zahid described the passing of Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani as a great loss to both the state and nation, particularly in the areas of welfare and women’s empowerment in Sarawak.

He expressed his admiration for her character, known as a gentle, compassionate woman who was actively involved in community service.

“The late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani was not merely the wife of a leader, but a loyal companion who served as a pillar of strength throughout the Sarawak Premier’s political journey.

“Her contributions to society, especially in empowering women and communities, were significant and will long be remembered.

“I pray that her soul will be blessed with divine mercy, all her sins forgiven, and that she will be placed among the righteous. May the Sarawak Premier and the entire family be granted strength and resilience in facing this irreplaceable loss,” he said.

Also present to visit the Sarawak Premier were Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and his wife, Datuk Dayang Morliah Awang Daud, Sarawak Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah and his wife, Datin Zuraini Abdul Jabbar, elected representatives, Heads of Departments, and close family members. -UKASnews
