KUCHING: Sarawak marks a new chapter in its education landscape as Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Demak Baru is selected as the first stop for the Pandai school tour in Borneo.
Pandai is a digital learning application under the DeliMa ecosystem — the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia — developed by the Ministry of Education Malaysia (KPM) in collaboration with the Educational Technology and Learning Sector (SSTP).
This initiative was carried out through a two-day Rakan DeLima programme on 17 and 18 June at SMK Demak Baru and 20 June at SK Tambay.
It symbolises the beginning of strengthening the digital education ecosystem and integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology among teachers and students in public schools throughout Sarawak.
The first day of the programme featured a special In-Service Training (LADAP) session for teachers, introducing the “Pandai Teacher” application — a platform that helps educators manage syllabus-based questions, monitor student performance, and streamline the digital teaching and learning process.
The second day focused on students with a motivational session and an AI exploration workshop.
Students were introduced to the Pandai app, which provides access to thousands of practice questions, gamified achievements, learning analytics, and AI-driven self-learning support.
One of the students who stood out was Elqish Daniel, 16, a high-performing student from SMK Demak Baru who has been using Pandai since 2023.
“I’ve been using Pandai for a few years now. I can see real improvements in my results and the way I study,” he said.
This launch supports the goals of Sarawak’s Post-COVID Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, which emphasises mainstreaming digital education as a key growth engine for the state’s future.
Pandai is also collaborating with the Sarawak Economic Development Foundation (TEGAS) to support education initiatives in Sarawak through participation in the SCaT Fair and the Pro-DR Roadshow, which will take place throughout July and August.
This collaboration will involve special activities expected to have a positive impact on school students across the state, expanding opportunities for more interactive and effective learning -UKASnews
