SARIKEI: The opening of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sarikei Branch Complex marks a new milestone in the landscape of government infrastructure development in Sarikei, reflecting a high commitment to improving the quality of public services.

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability, Dato’ Sri Huang Tiong Sii said the construction of the complex is not only a source of pride for JPJ personnel and the local community but also strengthens public trust in government institutions.

“This new complex will improve administrative efficiency and strengthen the people’s trust in government institutions.

It is also hoped to serve as a catalyst for a more dynamic, transparent, and people-centric public service system,” he said.

He said this while attending the opening ceremony of the JPJ Sarikei Branch Complex officiated by Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah at the Multipurpose Hall of the complex, on Thursday.

Also present were Deputy Secretary-General (Policy) of the Ministry of Transport, Dato' Normah Osman, JPJ Director-General, Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli, Sarikei Division Resident, Datu Michael Ronnie Langgong, and JPJ Sarawak Director, Norizan Jili.

Dato’ Sri Huang also expressed his appreciation to Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg for his visionary leadership in driving the state’s development agenda.

According to the Sarikei Member of Parliament and Repok Assemblyman, under the leadership of the Sarawak Premier, various development initiatives such as the Sarawak Mobility Plan, Transit Signal Priority (TSP) and smart traffic lights have been successfully implemented, thus providing direct benefits to the people.

“Hopefully this complex will become a symbol of the excellence of JPJ services in Sarikei as well as proof of our commitment in strengthening the infrastructure network for the well-being of the people,” he added.

Notably, the JPJ Sarikei Branch Complex has made history by becoming the only JPJ office in Sarawak equipped with staff quarters for officers and personnel, thereby enhancing staff welfare and the operational efficiency of the agency. -UKASnews
