KAPIT: Athletes from Kapit participating in the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA XXI) Sarawak 2024 are able to present a formidable challenge at the prestigious sporting event set to be held this August.
According to Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Native Laws and Customs), Datuk Jefferson Jamit Unyat, athletes from Kapit have past records of excellence in the previous editions of SUKMA, especially in combat sports like boxing and silat.
"We have about eight athletes from Kapit who will be participating in the upcoming SUKMA.
“We hope they will bring home with them the gold medals because athletes from Kapit have had a good record at SUKMA before,” he said.
