BATU KITANG: In conjunction with the celebration of Hari Raya Aidiladha 1446H, a Qurban Distribution Ceremony was held on Saturday afternoon at the Lubok Buaya Inland Fishermen Jetty, bringing together members of the local community in a spirit of unity and compassion.

The event was officiated by Senator Dato’ Ahmad Ibrahim, who personally distributed portions of the sacrificial meat to recipients from Kampung Paya Mebi and members of the Lubok Buaya Inland Fishermen Jetty Association.

Also present were Cr Shamsudin Unai of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), Village Chief of Kampung Paya Mebi, Ismail Tangok, along with local leaders and association representatives.

In his brief remarks, Dato’ Ahmad highlighted the deeper meaning of Aidiladha, which emphasizes sacrifice, sincerity, and togetherness.

“Aidiladha reminds us of the importance of helping one another, caring for those in need, and strengthening the bonds within our community. I am proud to witness the strong spirit of cooperation shown by the residents and fishermen’s association here today,” he said.

He also extended his appreciation to all donors and organising parties for their efforts in ensuring the smooth running of the programme, and expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to flourish in supporting rural and coastal communities.

The ceremony concluded with light refreshments and the orderly distribution of the sacrificial meat to the recipients. - UKASnews
