KUCHING: The Girl Guides Health Carnival 2025, organised by the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia Sarawak, will take place on 24 August at the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) grounds from 6.30 a.m. to 12 noon.
Girl Guides Sarawak Branch President, Dato Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud said this carnival is not just about fostering community awareness of the importance of healthcare, but also serves as a platform to empower teenage girls through involvement in positive activities and self-development.
“The organisation of this carnival also aims to raise funds to finance association programmes such as training, skill-building, camping, and the purchase of essential equipment including laptops for the Girl Guides members,” she said during a press conference, here on Thursday.
Dato Dayang Morliah added that the carnival, expected to draw over 1,000 participants, will feature a host of exciting activities including Zumba sessions, a 3-kilometre fun run, lucky draws, free health screenings, a blood donation campaign, as well as food, beverage, and health product stalls.
The event will be officiated and flagged off by Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
Also expected to be present are Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, and MBKS Mayor, Dato Wee Hong Seng.
Members of the public interested in joining can purchase early bird tickets at a basic rate of RM15 until 30 June 2025.
Meanwhile, premium packages are priced at RM30 (individual), RM55 (pair), RM78 (trio), and RM100 (four persons), which include a RM20 cash voucher, lucky draw entry, digital participation certificate, souvenir, Zumba session, and free health screening. -UKASnews
