KUCHING: A total of 151 individuals were conferred Sarawak state awards in recognition of their outstanding contributions in various fields of service to the people and the state at the Astana Negeri Sarawak, on Thursday.

The Sarawak State Awards Ceremony for the Years 2022 and 2023 was officiated by the Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

Also present was Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd. Sanusi.

Topping the list of recipients for the Johan Bintang Sarawak (J.B.S.) were Pemanca Roshidi Junai, Rodger Chan Siong Boh and Ruslan Abdul Ghani.

Yussibnosh Balo was the sole recipient of the Johan Bintang Kenyalang (J.B.K.).

Several Sarawak Assemblymen also received awards, including Tanjong Datu Assemblyman, Azizul Annuar Adenan and Serembu Assemblyman, Miro Simuh who were awarded the Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S.).

Also listed were the recipients of the Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K.), Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S.), Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K.), Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S.), as well as various service medals including the Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (P.P.C.), Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B.) and the Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T.).

Two recipients also received the Pingat Perwira Negeri (P.P.N.) (Bronze) for their courage in carrying out their duties in the interest of the state and the people.

This ceremony was held for the year 2023, which was postponed and symbolises the Sarawak Government’s appreciation for the contributions of all recipients.

In his speech, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi expressed his highest appreciation to all recipients and expressed hope that they would continue to provide the best service and become role models in society. -UKASnews
