BAU: Sarawak's rights and interests will continue to be defended to ensure economic progress in the state in a sustainable and orderly manner.
Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said Sarawak is now generating an income of more than RM15 billion a year as a result of hard work, unity among the people, and effective administration.
"As leader, I will defend Sarawak’s rights. Sarawak is developing, with an income of more than RM15 billion a year because we work hard, the people are united to progress, the politics must be right," he said.
He said this when officiating the Bau District 205th Anniversary Celebration, Tasik Biru Festival and Tasik Biru Resort City here, on Thursday.
He also stressed that Sarawak's progress is the result of joint efforts and that the achievement should not cause any dissatisfaction among any party.
"Sometimes, when we humans succeed, there starts to be feelings of jealousy. I’m worried because Sarawak’s income is increasing and when it increases, people start to get jealous,” he said.
Commenting further, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari said that Sarawak's progress has a direct impact on the development of the country as a whole.
