MIRI: Miri City gears up to host the Sarawak Day 2025 Celebration scheduled to take place on July 22.

Various large-scale programmes have been planned in an effort to strengthen the spirit of nationalism, unity and love for the region among the people of Sarawak.

Preparations are underway through the Miri Division Sarawak Day 2025 Celebration Implementation Committee Meeting No. 2/2025 held at the Miri Division Resident's Office on Wednesday.

The meeting was chaired by Miri Division Resident, Galong Luang and was also attended by various leaders and agency representatives, including Pujut Assemblyman and Miri Mayor, Adam Yii Siew Sang.

In the meeting, Galong emphasised the need for close coordination and strategic cooperation between all departments and agencies to ensure the smooth running of the event.

Emphasis was also placed on aspects of security, promotion, event management and local community involvement.

Among the exciting activities scheduled include a Sales and Exhibition Carnival, Sarawak Talent, Zumba, Unity Walk, a Thanksgiving Ceremony for Other Religions, a Town Hall session with state leadership, as well as the highlight of the Sarawak Day Assembly on the night of July 22 at the Miri City Stadium.

The celebration will also be graced by the Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.

Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang are also expected to be present to enliven the celebration. -UKASnews
