KOTA SAMARAHAN: A total of 63 organisations—including clubs, associations, and Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs)—within the Kota Samarahan parliamentary constituency have received allocations amounting to RM600,000 under the Special Parliamentary Allocation Grant.
Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development and Member of Parliament for Kota Samarahan, Datuk Rubiah Wang, said the grant aims to support the implementation of various activities and programmes that encourage community participation and grassroots development.
“We hope this allocation will provide the necessary support and convenience for each organisation to carry out their respective programmes effectively.
“Use the funds allocated by the government wisely, for the betterment and future of your associations, and ultimately, to benefit the people,” she said.
She made the remarks while officiating the Special Parliamentary Grant Handover Ceremony for P.197 Kota Samarahan, held at the Activity Room of Dewan Suarah Kota Samarahan on Saturday.
Datuk Rubiah added that the grant demonstrates the government’s continued concern for the needs of the people, especially local organisations that require financial backing to implement meaningful community initiatives.
Also present at the ceremony were Samarahan Division Deputy Resident Rais Ahmat, Assistant District Officer of Samarahan, Hayati Sahari and Assistant District Officer of Asajaya, Hasanah Bujang.
Datuk Rubiah noted that this handover marks the first phase of disbursements for the year and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting local organisations in driving forward community development programmes.
She also reminded all recipients to use the funds transparently and with integrity, in line with the original intent stated in their grant applications. -UKASnews
