Sarawak & Dassault Systèmes Explore Collaboration On Advanced Manufacturing & Smart Cities

PARIS: A Sarawak delegation led by Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan met with Dassault Systèmes at its Vélizy-Villacoublay headquarters here, to explore collaboration opportunities in advanced manufacturing, digital transformation, and smart city development.

The delegation was introduced to Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform which provides cutting-edge solutions in 3D design, simulation, product lifecycle management, and urban planning.

The meeting focused on areas including Industry 4.0 adoption, aerospace development, infrastructure digitalisation, and talent development through specialised training and centres of excellence.

Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah acknowledged Dassault’s impressive global leadership in advanced manufacturing and digital innovation.

“Our state’s strategic direction, centred on high-tech manufacturing, aerospace, and smart city development, aligns closely with Dassault’s capabilities.

“We are keen to develop joint initiatives that will accelerate Sarawak’s digital and industrial transformation,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.

The meeting concluded with an agreement for InvestSarawak to work collectively with Dassault Systèmes and local stakeholders to explore the establishment of an innovation lab that would support Sarawak’s ambition to train engineers in advanced 3D design and simulation, enhance manufacturing competitiveness, and develop smart city solutions.

Additionally, follow-up technical discussions and a proposed visit to Sarawak were also identified as immediate next steps.

Also present during the meeting were Sarawak Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED), Datuk Dr. Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, MINTRED Advisor (SME), Dato Sri Mohd. Naroden Majais, MINTRED Permanent Secretary, Dzulkornain Masron, Permanent Secretary to the Sarawak Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development, Datu Abdullah Julaihi, Director of the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) Sarawak, Datu Lester Matthew, Chief Executive Officer of InvestSarawak, Timothy Ong, Dassault Systèmes GEOVIA Brand Chief Executive Officer, Mauro Dellemonache, and other senior Sarawak Government officials. -UKASnews
