Sarawak RDAs' Working Visit Continues In Miri

MIRI: The series of working visits to nine Regional Development Agencies (RDAs) in Sarawak continued on Tuesday with a visit to the Highland Development Agency (HDA) Office in Miri.

This marks the second destination after Lawas and is scheduled to take place from 5 to 16 May 2025.

The official visit is led by the Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agencies, Kuching North City Hall and Islamic Affairs), Datuk Dr. Abdul Rahman Junaidi.

It aims to review the implementation of development projects being implemented under the RDA as well as strengthen working relationships between ministries, implementing agencies and monitors in the field.

In a briefing session attended by 24 participants including representatives of technical agencies and district administrations, he stressed the importance of effective coordination between all parties to ensure that projects run smoothly and on schedule.

According to him, a Special Committee will be established and chaired by him to coordinate implementation issues and expedite follow-up actions.

This committee will involve all RDAs as well as central agencies such as the Economic Planning Unit (EPU), State Implementation Monitoring Unit (SIMU) and related ministries.

Among those present at the session were HDA Regional Director, Juan Ubit, SIMU Director, Sapiah Daud, EPU Deputy Director, Florida Gala James Mijien as well as representatives from the Resident's Office and Miri Division District Offices (Telang Usan, Marudi and Beluru). -UKASnews
