KUCHING: The Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, graciously attended the wedding reception of the daughter of Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh and Datin Asiah Awai, held in Kuching on Friday evening.

Wan Abdullah Fahmi, 29, and Nur Baizura, 29, were officially united in marriage during a solemn akad nikah ceremony earlier that morning, witnessed by close family members and friends.

Wan Abdullah Fahmi is the son of former Sadong Jaya Assemblyman, Dato Wan Abdul Wahab Wan Sanusi, and Datin Jeliah Abo Bakar.

The reception was further graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including the President of the Senate, Senator Dato’ Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Minister of Utility and Telecommunication, Dato Sri Julaihi Narawi and Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol, among other distinguished guests.

A highlight of the evening was the traditional 'merenjis' blessing ceremony, officiated by Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah, followed by the parents of both bride and groom.

The event also featured a 'nasi temuan' session and a cake-cutting ceremony.

Adding to the joyous atmosphere were special musical performances by local artists Hafiz Suip and Firdaus Materang, who entertained guests with a selection of romantic ballads. -UKASnews
