Sarawak Governor Supports PERKTHIS Efforts To Empower Chinese Muslim Community

KUCHING: Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar has expressed his support for the initiatives undertaken by Persatuan Kebajikan Tiong Hua Islam Sarawak (PERKTHIS) in empowering the Chinese Muslim community through various welfare initiatives and development projects.

During a courtesy call by the PERKTHIS delegation led by its President, Mortadha Lau Abdullah at the Astana Negeri Sarawak on Tuesday, the delegation also shared updates on the construction of the Chinese Islamic Cultural Centre to be developed at Jalan Bako, Kuching.

The centre, poised to become a new landmark in Sarawak, will serve as a platform for social integration and unity among the various communities.

It will not only provide facilities for worship and community activities but also serve as a reference point for non-Muslims interested in learning more about Islam.

The Sarawak Governor welcomed the efforts of PERKTHIS in promoting social harmony and called for the continuation of such initiatives to build a more prosperous and united Sarawak.

Also present during the courtesy call were Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, PERKTHIS Deputy President, Muhammad Luk Sulaiman Luk, PERKTHIS Vice President, Lukhman Ting Abdullah, PERKTHIS Secretary, Nur Aisyah Chan Abdullah, as well as other committee members. -UKASnews
