KUCHING: The 8th PASC Inter-Primary School Swimming Competition 2025, held at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre today, concluded on a high note with over 265 young swimmers from 34 primary schools across Sarawak participating in the spirited event.

Officiating the closing ceremony was Senator Dato Ahmad Ibrahim, Patron of the Power Aquatics Swimming Club, who commended the outstanding efforts of the organisers, participants, coaches, and parents in making the event a resounding success.

In his address, Dato’ Ahmad praised the competition not merely as a platform for medal achievements, but more importantly as a vital stepping stone towards cultivating sportsmanship, resilience, teamwork, and discipline among Sarawak’s budding athletes.

“It is in these small pools, in competitions such as this, that dreams are born and champions are nurtured,” he said.

“A world-class athlete does not emerge overnight — it starts with perseverance, courage, and community support.”

Highlighting his ongoing commitment to the development of aquatic sports, Dato Ahmad also announced his contribution of RM7,000 towards Power Aquatics Swimming Club for the year 2025.

The contribution aims to support various upcoming activities organised by the club, including the 2nd Inter-Club Swimming Competition (10–12 May 2025), the 5th Sarawak Sprint (15–17 August 2025) and the 4th Kuching Invitational Water Polo Cup (22–25 November 2025).

Dato Ahmad called upon more corporate and community partners to step forward and support the growth of aquatics sports in Sarawak, emphasising that collective effort is key to building future champions.
