KUCHING: The Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit (STIU), Sarawak Premier’s Department organised the Sarawak Civil Service Quality Award (AKPANS) 2025 Briefing Session on 8, 10 and 11 April 2025.
The three-day session brought together more than 590 civil servants from various Sarawak Government agencies.
STIU Director, Superi Awang Said, in his opening speech stressed that AKPANS is not just a recognition award, but a strategic platform to empower government agencies through efficient, transparent and high-impact management practices.
“A culture of excellence does not happen spontaneously. It requires principled leadership, continuous commitment and active involvement of all employees,” he said on Friday.
The briefing aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the AKPANS assessment criteria and instill a high-performance work culture among government agencies.
AKPANS 2025 targets continuous improvement in governance, operational efficiency and the effectiveness of public service delivery.
The briefing session focused on the nine AKPANS 2025 Criteria, covering Organisational Leadership, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, ICT Management, Organisational Culture, Customer Management, Community Engagement, Organisational Achievement as well as Sustainability and Future Empowerment.
Superi also called on all participants to utilise AKPANS as a catalyst for innovation and renewal in their respective agencies in order to strengthen the people’s trust through more responsive and impact-focused services.
AKPANS 2025 is expected to be a catalyst for the culture of excellence in the public sector, in line with the aspirations of the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 towards high-impact governance and more progressive service delivery. -UKASnews
