SINGAPORE: Asia's largest food and beverage trade fair, Food & Hotel Asia-Food & Beverage (FHA-F&B) 2025 held in Singapore is the best platform to market Sarawakian products to the global market.
Advisor to the Sarawak Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED), Dato Sri Mohd Naroden Majais said Singapore is one of the best gateways in Southeast Asia to promote products from Malaysia, especially from Sarawak in this region including to Saudi Arabia and Europe.
He said that with a population of over 4 million in Singapore, it provides a large market for products from Sarawak.
"A trade and exhibition programme like this held in Singapore is very appropriate to showcase and promote food products with halal certification from Malaysia, including our products from Sarawak.
"Our products can be exported to foreign countries such as Indonesia, Europe, Saudi Arabia and many more," he said when interviewed by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) while visiting the Sarawak Pavilion booth at the Singapore Expo on Thursday.
Also present were Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operation), Datu Hii Chang Kee and Chief Executive Officer of Sarawak Trade, Investment and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS), Chew Chang Guan.
Dato Sri Mohd Naroden added that the global market today is getting bigger with the increase in the world's population every year.
This has made the need and demand for essential goods including food products increasingly increasing, he said.
In this regard, he congratulated STATOS for successfully showcasing selected food products from Sarawak at the FHA-F&B 2025 held from April 8 to 11.
According to him, all products from Sarawak displayed at the exhibition are ready to be exported.
"I hope that those interested from Singapore and even Malaysians who are here, will come visit the Sarawak Pavilion to see our products on display and consider buying Sarawak products or bringing them abroad," he added.
A total of 19 exhibitors from Sarawak are participating in FHA-F&B 2025 to promote various products including processed bird's nest, coffee, tea from midin vegetables, white and black pepper, Sarawak laksa paste, empurau fish and many more. -UKASnews
