SINGAPORE: Industry players from various sectors in Sarawak will be gathering in Singapore to showcase their products at the Sarawak Mega Fair 2025 scheduled to take place from October 16 to 19.
According to the Chairman of Sarawak Trade, Investment and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS), Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani, the inaugural mega fair will involve various state government agencies and private parties.
He said the exhibition, which will be officiated by Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, is targeting industry players from within and outside Singapore.
"We will bring all sectors, agriculture, tourism, industry, furniture…we will bring them all here to showcase their products.
"At the same time, we will also hold seminars, promotions and talks on Sarawak's potential from various fields. What can be invested in Sarawak?"
He said this when interviewed by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) while visiting the Sarawak Pavilion at the Singapore Expo in conjunction with the Food & Hotel Asia-Food & Beverage (FHA-F&B) 2025 on Thursday.
He explained that apart from highlighting local products, the Sarawak Mega Fair also aims to promote the tourism sector in Sarawak.
"We want more tourists from Singapore or abroad to come to Sarawak.
"There are many opportunities to see and get to know Sarawak at the Sarawak Mega Fair," he shared.
He did not rule out the possibility that the exhibition would also be held at other Sarawak Trade, Investment and Tourism offices after Singapore.
Meanwhile, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi advised local entrepreneurs to penetrate the Singapore market.
He said, STATOS together with the Sarawak Ministry for International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) are ready to help provide advisory services and so on to any entrepreneurs who are interested in expanding their products in the country.
Regarding FHA-F&B 2025, he said it was the fourth time STATOS had participated in the exhibition which aimed to showcase Sarawak products to the foreign market as well as to seek trade potential with other industry players.
"This is the inspiration of the Sarawak Premier to promote the state, which is why STATOS was established.
"Over the past five years, Sarawak has become more and more well-known. Even those living in Singapore have come to know Sarawak."
