KUCHING: The headquarters of MASWings, currently operating in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, will be relocated to Sarawak.

Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, stated that with this relocation plan, the airline’s current staff will be given options regarding their future employment.

"As of now, the MASWings headquarters remains in Kota Kinabalu, but we will be moving it to Sarawak. Employees will have the choice of whether to continue serving the company or explore other opportunities.

"I anticipate that this matter will be resolved by next year," he told reporters during the Sarawak Premier’s 2025 Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Monday.

Commenting on the ongoing logo and design competition for AirBorneo, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari explained that the selection process is still underway.

"We are currently reviewing feedback from those involved, and we will select the best design for AirBorneo.

"The decision will be made in stages," he added.

Furthermore, he reiterated that the acquisition and rebranding of MASWings into AirBorneo will strengthen the region's economic growth.

He noted that Sarawak will no longer be isolated from international connections as the state’s aviation network continues to improve. -UKASnews
