KUCHING: A delegation from TV Sarawak (TVS) paid a courtesy visit to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) as part of efforts to strengthen strategic cooperation between both parties, particularly in technical areas, training, and news broadcasting.

The TVS delegation led by its Chairwoman, Dato Norhyati Ismail, and Chief Media Officer, Mohamad Sardon Zainal was warmly received by UKAS Director, Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan and senior UKAS management at the Baitul Makmur Building here, on Wednesday.

During the courtesy visit, both sides discussed various initiatives to enhance the quality of information delivery to Sarawakians, including the exchange of expertise in technical operations and broadcast training.

The discussion also focused on improving news broadcasting to ensure more efficient and effective dissemination of information.

As a proactive step, TVS and UKAS are set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise their shared commitment to strengthening the state’s broadcasting industry.

Through the MoU, both entities will collaborate on human capital development, the sharing of broadcasting technology, as well as the publication of more comprehensive news content that reflects public interest.

Meanwhile, Dato Norhyati said the partnership would not only strengthen synergy between TVS and UKAS but also open up avenues for the exchange of ideas and expertise to enrich the media landscape in Sarawak.

Awang Putrayusrie, in turn, welcomed the collaboration and believed it would bring great benefit in delivering accurate, timely, and credible information to the public.

Both TVS and UKAS are optimistic that the MoU will serve as a catalyst for a more dynamic and progressive development of the state’s broadcasting industry. -UKASnews
