KUCHING: The Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) has contributed a total of RM30,880 in education funds and basic necessities to three charitable organisations under the patronage of HIKMAH, as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts to enliven the spirit of Ramadan.
The beneficiary organisations are the Baiturrahman Kuching Welfare Organisation, Laman Huda Care Centre, and Yayasan Pelajaran Mara (YPM).
The donation was presented by Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi at an Iftar event organised by SEDC at a leading hotel, here on Wednesday.
Among the essential items donated were food supplies, water filters, personal and prayer essentials, and school equipment including computers to facilitate learning and enhance the well-being of the residents in these charitable organisations.
In addition, SEDC as a contributing partner to YPM’s 2025 education programme also provides monthly financial assistance of RM150 to selected Form 5 students, from March to December, through the ‘Skim Anak Angkat’.
Also present were Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr. Hazland Abang Hipni and his wife, Datin Dayang Halimah Abang Paul, as well as Chairman of SEDC, Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Abdul Aziz Dato Husain and his wife, Puan Sri Datin Amar Nur Ashima Aziz. -UKASnews
