KUCHING: Technological advancements are not just shaping modern lifestyles, but can also be a catalyst in shaping the personality of the younger generation.

Deputy Prime Minister, Dato’ Sri Fadillah Yusof, stressed that the use of technology with good intentions can produce Muslim teenagers who are more knowledgeable with higher morale.

According to him, technology can be used as a learning tool that not only enriches knowledge, but also encourages good practices in daily life.

“Now, we need to see how technology can be used to gain knowledge. With a good heart, God willing, we will be able to seek and spread goodness," he said.

He said this when officiating the Closing Ceremony of the Ihya Ramadan Camp 2025 at the Sarawak Islamic Skills Institute Malaysia (IKMAS), Telaga Air, on Sunday.

Meanwhile, he also encouraged the participants of the Ihya Ramadan 2025 Camp to establish peer groups as a platform to spread Islamic values and goodness to the community.

This three-day programme aims to strengthen the identity of Muslim teenagers with an approach based on the family institution and Islamic noble values.

Throughout the programme, participants were exposed to various religious activities such as interactive Tazkirah, motivational workshops, Qiyamullail, Tadarus al-Quran and self-reflection sessions.

Dato’ Sri Fadillah explained that Ramadan is not just a month of worship, but also an opportunity to improve yourself and benefit others.

“What is learned in this camp should be continued outside. Don’t keep it for yourself, but spread it to others. Form groups, share knowledge, and make sure this year’s Ramadan has a lasting impact.”

By organising a programme like this, it is hoped that the younger generation will not only be able to strengthen their own identity, but also become future leaders who hold fast to Islamic values and utilise technology for good.

Also present at the event were the Director of IKMAS, Zairuna Mansor; Programme Director and Chairman of the Sarawak Sahabat Amal Care (SAC) Welfare Organisation, Wan Lukmanhakim Wan Sajali, as well as several other guests. - UKASnews
