KUCHING: Tabung Ekonomi Gagasan Anak Sarawak (TEGAS) and Endeavor Malaysia are now accepting applications for SCALE Sarawak Cohort 2, building on the success of its pilot programme in 2024.

In a statement by TEGAS on Monday, this high-impact initiative aims to accelerate the growth of Sarawakian entrepreneurs by providing strategic support and mentorship.

According to Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration, and Environment and Chairman of TEGAS, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, SCALE Sarawak is a testament to TEGAS’ commitment to nurturing high-potential startups and positioning Sarawak as a key player in the regional digital economy.

“This initiative aligns with the Sarawak Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy and the Sarawak Digital Economy Blueprint 2030, reinforcing our vision for a thriving and innovative ecosystem," he said.

He further stated that through the partnership with Endeavor Malaysia, TEGAS is equipping entrepreneurs with the essential resources and networks they need to succeed.

“By fostering collaboration and providing strategic support, we aim to accelerate the growth of Sarawak’s startup landscape and drive sustainable economic impact,” he added.

SCALE Sarawak Cohort 2 provides selected startups with six months of intensive mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities to scale their businesses.

This programme aims to strengthen Sarawak’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by leveraging Endeavor’s global network of industry experts, investors, and successful founders.

Meanwhile, Managing Director of Endeavor Malaysia, Shan Li Tay said that high-impact entrepreneurs have the power to transform economies and inspire the next generation.

“We’re incredibly honoured that TEGAS has once again entrusted us to run SCALE Sarawak—further strengthening our commitment to empowering local entrepreneurs.

“This partnership is crucial in providing high-potential Sarawakian founders with the mentorship, network, and strategic support they need to scale their businesses,” she said.

She added that by equipping entrepreneurs with the right resources, mentorship and connections, Endeavor Malaysia will accelerate their individual success and also lay the foundation for a thriving startup ecosystem.

The 2025 cohort will feature six high-impact Sarawakian startups selected based on their revenue, growth potential, intellectual property ownership, and commitment to technology-driven solutions.

The programme will kick off with a Launch Day on May 15-16, 2025, at TEGAS Digital Village and culminate with a Graduation Day and Business Review Panel in October 2025. -UKASnews
