KUCHING: A total of 450 new households will benefit from the Rural Water Supply (BALB) project in the Bukit Begunan area.
Sarawak Deputy Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi said, the project has been submitted under Rolling Plan 5 (RP5) of the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12) to the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) for implementation.
"The scope of work involved under the proposed BALB project at the Bukit Begunan area, Sri Aman Division is the installation of pipes of various sizes spanning 65 kilometers (km), the construction of high-level tanks, booster pump stations and related works," he explained.
He said this while answering a question from Bukit Begunan assemblyman, Datuk Mong Dagang at the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Sitting on Tuesday.
Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman added that as many as 10 villages and longhouses in the Bukit Begunan area will receive treated water supplies with the implementation of the BALB project. -UKASnews
