MIRI: The Sarawak United Peoples' Party (SUPP) Miri Piasau Branch has been actively assisting senior citizens in registering and activating their Sumbangan Keperluan Asas Sarawak (SKAS) since January 1, 2025.

Office records show that 1,486 senior citizens have visited the office this month, seeking assistance with SKAS, Senior Citizen Health Benefit (SCHB), and Kenyalang Gold Card (KGC) applications, as well as addressing related issues.

Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP), Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, announced that the branch has also launched a Weekly Mobile Service, setting up booths at various locations to facilitate SKAS, SCHB, and KGC applications.

This initiative also allows seniors to submit appeals when necessary.

“This initiative ensures that senior citizens, particularly those with mobility challenges, can conveniently access these government benefits,” said Datuk Sebastian in a statement on Friday.

He reaffirmed SUPP Miri Piasau's commitment to supporting senior citizens in securing welfare assistance from the government.

Datuk Sebastian also encouraged those who have yet to apply for SKAS, SCHB, or KGC to visit the office or the mobile service booths for assistance.
