KUCHING: Political stability is a pillar of the continuity of Sarawak's economic planning and development in ensuring the prosperity and wellbeing of the people.
The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said that stable politics is important in the Sarawak government's efforts to attract foreign investment as a catalyst for its economy.
According to him, Sarawak is lucky to have a leadership that prioritises the development agenda despite the diverse backgrounds of its leaders and political beliefs.
"We need a strong Sarawak government to ensure political stability and the wellbeing of the people while also strengthening Sarawak's economy in the long term.
"I call on all parties to continue to work together, join hands and unite to maintain political stability for the sake of harmony and the interests of the people," he said when speaking in conjunction with the Opening of the First Meeting for the Third Term of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) on Monday.
Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi added that the success and progress enjoyed as a result of political tolerance between various parties along with the development initiatives that have been implemented is the backbone to achieve further success in the future. -UKASnews
