KUCHING: Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) in collaboration with Kintone Southeast Asia Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian subsidiary of Japan's Cybozu Inc., successfully hosted the Digital Transformation Seminar for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) at the Waterfront Hotel.

In a statement on Tuesday, it stated that this initiative is set to revolutionise digital adoption among Sarawak’s SMEs by providing seamless, scalable, and cost-efficient business solutions.

Building on the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed during International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2024, this partnership underscores SDEC and Kintone’s commitment to equipping businesses with the tools they need to thrive in an increasingly digital landscape.

Chairman of SDEC, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi in his speech emphasised the critical role of digitalisation in enhancing the competitiveness and resilience of Sarawak’s SMEs.

He also highlighted that this strategic partnership is a catalyst for accelerating the region’s digital economy.

With Kintone’s no-code platform, SMEs can now opt for only the modules they require, ensuring optimised costs while maintaining flexibility as their businesses grow.

This modular approach enables enterprises to streamline operations, improve customer engagement, and boost overall productivity without the need for specialised IT expertise.

Industry leaders and government representatives, including Chief Executive Officer of SDEC, Dato Ir. Ts. Sudarnoto Osman, Managing Director of Kintone Southeast Asia Sdn Bhd, Tsubasa Nakazawa and First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Malaysia, Shingo Hiraki were in attendance alongside 150 participants from various key sectors.

This strategic collaboration between SDEC and Kintone marks a pivotal step in Sarawak’s digital transformation journey, ensuring that SMEs remain competitive, resilient, and future-ready. -UKASnews
