PCDS 2030: Brainchild Of Sarawak Premier Successfully Steers Clear Direction For Development

KUCHING: The Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 which is the brainchild of Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg has succeeded in bringing a clear direction for development in Sarawak.

The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar lauded Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari's approach and ideas in accelerating and developing Sarawak's economy through digital economy initiatives, data centre development, green energy, renewable energy, hydrogen, carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), green economy and circular economy.

"Well done and congratulations to the Premier of Sarawak and his leadership team who have proven that Sarawak has earned a high income over the past few years.

"Sarawak is also now a global player and is known all over the world," he said when speaking in conjunction with the Opening of the First Meeting for the Third Term of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) on Monday.

Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi emphasised that the clear development allows Sarawak to move towards a developed and high-income region by 2030 based on economic prosperity, social inclusion and environmental sustainability.

Meanwhile, the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak said that the organisation of the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) in the state will become a platform for the development of Sarawak's young talent in various sporting events.

He explained that SUKMA provides an opportunity for the youth of Sarawak to showcase their potential, talent, and excellence in sports.

"I hope that through SUKMA this time, our athletes will be able to show excellent performance to make Sarawak famous.

"To the Sarawak contingent, fight with a high sporting spirit and prove the talent of Sarawak's youth at the national level," he said.

At the same time, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi called on all parties involved to cooperate and join hands to ensure that the organisation of SUKMA runs successfully. -UKASnews
