KUCHING: The Sarawak-Sabah Link Road (SSLR) Phase Two project, valued at RM7.4 billion, is expected to take at least five years to complete.
According to Minister of Works (KKR), Dato Sri Alexander Nanta Linggi, various challenges on the ground could affect the progress of the project.
Some of these challenges include geographical factors and the extensive scope of the project which requires detailed engineering work.
"We have finalised the agreement with the contractor by the end of 2024, and they will start on-site in two to three months,” he said.
He said this during a press conference after the Malaysia Public Works Strategic Collaboration Programme (‘Program Kolaborasi Strategik Kerja Raya Malaysia’) held at a prominent resort here, on Wednesday.
