PADAWAN: Lions Club in collaboration with the Kampung Sadir Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) organised the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme 'Rural Project 2025' at the Kampung Sadir Community Hall here, on Sunday.
The programme was officiated by Administrative Officer in Charge of the Padawan Sub-District Office, Julius Scott Sapong, representing Deputy Minister for Transport and Mambong Assemblyman, Datuk Dr. Jerip Susil.
In his speech, Julius welcomed more participation from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and private companies in carrying out CSR activities in the 4S villages (Kampung Sadir, Kampung Simuti, Kampung Sibuang and Kampung Sibakar) in Padawan to help the less fortunate.
Among the main initiatives in this programme were the handing over of school bag assistance to students, as well as hair cutting services and health screenings including dental and eye examinations for students of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) St. Bernard Sadir and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Padawan.
The total number of recipients of assistance included 81 primary school students, 88 secondary school students and 65 senior citizens who received basic necessities to provide relief. -UKASnews
