LAWAS: Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, together with his wife, Dato Dayang Morliah Datuk Awang Daud, made a festive Chinese New Year visit to a local entrepreneur and owner of Chop Leong Seng Hardware and Machineries, Liaw Leong Pun, in his constituency in Lawas on Saturday.

The arrival of Datuk Amar Awang Tengah and his delegation was warmly welcomed with traditional festivities, including a lion dance performance and firecrackers, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Chinese community in celebrating the occasion.

During the visit, he had the opportunity to engage in conversations with Liaw Leong Pun's family members as well as other invited guests.

The celebration concluded with a banquet and another lion dance performance, further enlivening the atmosphere.

This event not only strengthened the bond between leaders and the local community but also highlighted the harmony and unity among Sarawak's multi-ethnic society in celebrating festive occasions together.

Also present at the event were Lawas Member of Parliament, Dato Henry Sum Agong, Director of the Sarawak Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID), Datu Ir.
