KUCHING: Bangladesh High Commissioner to Malaysia, Md Shameem Ahsan paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak (MINTRED), Dzulkornain Masron at Wisma Sumber Alam on Thursday.
He highlighted that the visit aimed to explore potential areas for strengthened bilateral collaboration, particularly in business and economic sectors, with a focus on enhancing cooperation between the High Commission and Sarawak authorities.
"I am very encouraged to learn that Dzulkornain has expressed deep interest in strengthening our collaboration in all areas.
"This marks the beginning of exploring new opportunities for cooperation," he said when met by Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) reporters after the courtesy call.
Md Shameem expressed confidence that the engagement would pave the way for greater collaboration between Bangladesh and Malaysia, particularly with Sarawak.
“We will see greater engagement and closer cooperation between both countries, as well as between the High Commission and the Sarawak government,” he added.
Later, Md Shameem is scheduled to pay another courtesy call on the President of Sarawak Business Federation, Dato Sri Abang Abdul Karim Tun Datuk Abang Openg at his office. -UKASnews
