Smooth Rehearsal For Opening Ceremony Of The Third Term Of 19th Sarawak DUN

KUCHING: The full rehearsal in conjunction with the Opening Ceremony of the Third Term of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (DUN) went smoothly, involving the inspection of the Main Guard of Honour. 

The rehearsal was also attended by the Sarawak DUN Speaker, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nasar here, on Friday.

His presence around 8.50 a.m. was to ensure the final preparations proceeded smoothly before the official ceremony takes place later on May 6.

During the rehearsal, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia had the opportunity to ensure that the parade was in perfect order.

A total of 105 men including three officers and 102 other-ranks from the General Operations Force (PGA) and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) respectively, led by Inspector James Rodney and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jiffry Ardin, will be involved in the Main Guard of Honour, accompanied by the PDRM Band with a strength of 40 personnel led by the Band Director, Inspector Frankie Billy.

The same rehearsal continued in front of the DUN foyer as a backup plan in case unfavourable weather happens on Monday.

Also present at the rehearsal were Sarawak Deputy State Secretary (Operation), Datu Hii Chang Kee, and Sarawak Protocol, Ceremonial and Event Management Unit Director, Hamdan Sharbini. -UKASnews
