Jelajah Sarawak: A Journey To Bring The Sarawak Governor Closer To The Rakyat

KUCHING: The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar will embark on a series of tours across the state which aimed at getting closer to the people.

Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Corporate Affairs, Information and UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol said that this ‘Jelajah Sarawak’ (tour across Sarawak) will further highlight Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi's compassionate and caring nature towards the rakyat.

"Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi has expressed his desire to have this tour, and now, the programme is being planned by us.

"We plan to use this tour as a medium to get to know his personality even better," he said.

He made these remarks when met by reporters after a courtesy visit to Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi at the Astana Negeri Sarawak, on Thursday.

Datuk Abdullah added that the Sarawak Governor has expressed his enthusiasm to visit all parts of Sarawak, especially the interiors.

Furthermore, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi, as the Head of State, is committed to maintaining unity among the people of Sarawak comprising of various ethnicities as well as serving as the leader of all ethnicities in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, during the courtesy call, Datuk Abdullah also formally invited Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi to attend the Dinner Reception in conjunction with the National Journalists Day (HAWANA) on May 26, which will also be attended by Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.

Also present were Director of Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), Samuel Simon, Chief Executive Officer of Angkatan Zaman Mansang (AZAM) Sarawak, Ali Suhaili, President of the Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA), Ronnie Teo, and Deputy Director of UKAS, Joachim Paggang Jabong. -UKASnews
