KUCHING: The Limbang Lawas Local Plan 2035 project is among the initiatives under the 13th Malaysia Plan (RMK-13) that requires attention.

Sarawak Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said that with a comprehensive study on this project, it can ensure the sustainability and balance of development in the Limbang and Lawas districts in terms of the physical and economic aspects.

"This is because various projects are being swiftly implemented in the Limbang and Lawas districts, such as industrial projects, bridges, airports, the Sabah-Sarawak Link Road (SSLR), and the Pan Borneo Highway.

"In addition to the Limbang Lawas Local Plan 2035 project, there are two other equally important projects, namely the Miri City Local Plan 2035 and the Sibu Town Local Plan 2035," he said during his speech at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Urban Development (MUDeNR) Workforce Appreciation Ceremony themed 'Rindoknya Raya' held here, on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah, who is also the Second Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development, urged for completed projects to be evaluated or scrutinised for their usage.

"If completed projects cannot be utilised due to certain reasons, immediate action should be taken to address them so that they can benefit the people," he added.

During the programme, 10 members of the MUDeNR workforce received the Excellent Service Award (APC) for the year 2023.

Also present were Sarawak Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, Datuk Len Talif Salleh, MUDeNR Permanent Secretary Datu Zaidi Mahdi, MUDeNR Deputy Permanent Secretary Hairani Mohamad Ismail, and other invited guests.-UKASnews
