KUCHING:The Sarawak Transformation and Innovation Unit (STIU) of the Sarawak Premier's Department has received recognition as a Good Practice Achiever under the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF) certification.
This reflects STIU's efforts in driving public service excellence, increasing productivity and competitiveness of the Sarawak Government through transformation and innovation initiatives.
It also reflects the strategic approach of STIU in strengthening the delivery of the Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) in a structured manner, which is in line with the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030 aimed at strengthening Sarawak's vision for sustainable development and increasing productivity.
According to a statement on Tuesday, the MBEF certificate was presented during a courtesy call session by Director General of the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), Zahid Ismail to Sarawak Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
Also present were Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Operation), Datu Hii Chang Kee, STIU Director, Superi Awang Said, along with senior officers from MPC and the Sarawak Premier's Department.
According to Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar, this recognition as a Good Practice Achiever under the MBEF certification is a significant achievement in STIU's efforts to implement organisational excellence practices.
"SCS will continue to be committed to ensuring that transformation and innovation are the basis for more efficient and responsive service delivery,” he said.
Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar further said that apart from MBEF, organisational transformation measurement methods practiced in SCS such as the Sarawak Civil Service Quality Award (AKPANS) and SCS Scorecard also create healthy competition among agencies towards continuous improvement.
Indirectly, it can guarantee the achievement of the best services to the people, especially in achieving the strategic thrust under PCDS
2030, namely Ease of Doing Business, he said.
Meanwhile, Superi explained that MBEF is a framework adapted to the Malaysian context, based on international standards such as Baldrige Excellence in line with global best practices to ensure that organisations achieve high standards.
He added that the MBEF approach, which is a continuous performance measurement, places great emphasis on the ADLI method which is based on four main elements, namely approach, deployment, learning and integration, to ensure the effectiveness and continuity of good organisational practices. -UKASnews
