LIMBANG: The Limbang Division Social Welfare Office has disbursed RM1,404,900 for federal aid schemes and RM146,250 for Sarawak aid as of January 2025, benefitting 3,129 recipients across Limbang and Lawas Districts.
According to Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development (KPWK), Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam, the assistance significantly enhances the well-being of target groups, especially in addressing financial challenges.
"Contributions of this nature are meaningful to those in need, reflecting the belief, 'The more you give, the more you get back’.
"In 2024, RM14,966,800 was spent on federal aid schemes, while RM1,721,550 was allocated for state aid, benefitting welfare recipients in Limbang and Lawas," he said during the Majlis Sejambak Kasih in conjunction with Chinese New Year 2025 held here on Monday.
This event celebrated 212 recipients identified by the Limbang Division Social Welfare Office, with 101 attending and 111 receiving contributions via bank transfers.
The programme allocated RM29,280, including RM21,200 for cash contributions and RM8,080 for Chinese New Year hampers, aiming to bring joy and support to the community during the festive season.
