KUCHING: Sarawak will host the Energy Industry Council (EIC) Connect Energy Borneo 2025 which will be held from February 25 to 26.
Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr. Hazland Abang Hipni said Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg will officiate the programme at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre.
According to him, the Sarawak Government will continue to strengthen its position as a leader in clean energy through progress in renewable energy projects including production of hydrogen, solar energy and hydropower.
He also emphasised the government's efforts in capacity building through new programmes and specific curriculum designed to equip Sarawak's workforce with skills relevant to the needs of the energy sector in the future.
He said this at the EIC Connect Energy Borneo 2025 press conference here on Tuesday.
Datuk Dr. Hazland added that over 800 delegates and 25 exhibitors are expected to showcase the latest technologies, services, and solutions shaping the global energy landscape with the support of the Sarawak Ministry of Energy and Environmental Sustainability (MEESty) and Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak).
Key sessions during the programme will include Net Zero as a Catalyst for Economic Prosperity, Oil and Gas Resilience: Ensuring Energy Security Amid Transition, Artificial Intelligence and Energy, and Space-Based Technologies for Energy Transition, he said.
EIC Connect Energy Borneo 2025 provides a space for industry professionals, policymakers and innovators to discuss key issues shaping the future of regional energy.
It is also expected to be a high-impact event, reinforcing Sarawak’s vision as an ASEAN sustainable energy hub. -UKASnews
