KUCHING: Amanah Saham Sarawak (ASSAR) has announced an interim dividend distribution of 3.0 sen per unit for the financial year ending June 30, 2025.
Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, said that this third post-restructuring dividend distribution involves RM14.23 million to be distributed to 57,653 investors.
“This third post-restructuring distribution will amount to RM14.23 million to 57,653 investors, calculated based on unit holdings as of December 31, 2024.
“This means there is a surplus income of RM13.52 million available as reserves to sustain ASSAR Fund’s income for the subsequent period,” he announced, during an event at the Hikmah Exchange Event Centre (HEEC) on Friday.
Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari added that the gross income for the first six months of the financial year ending June 30, 2025, amounted to RM22.62 million, a 45 per cent increase compared to RM15.59 million during the same period last year.
“The breakdown of gross income is 48 per cent, or RM10.95 million, from equity and share sales profits, 37 per cent, or RM8.29 million, from interest income on fixed-income securities and 15 per cent, or RM3.38 million, from dividend income on equity holdings, interest income from money market instruments, and capital gains from the sale of fixed-income securities.
“After deducting expenses amounting to RM2.93 million, the net income of the ASSAR Fund stands at RM19.69 million,” he added.
According to him, the increased income to the proactive strategies of the Fund Manager, who capitalised on stock market rallies to realise capital gains before uncertain market conditions set in.
