KUCHING: The Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar received a courtesy call from a delegation of the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) at the Astana Negeri Sarawak here, on Monday.
According to Director-General of DBP, Dr Hazami Jahari, the courtesy call, among others, aimed to invite Tun Dr Wan Junaidi to several events organised by DBP.
"We would like to inform of DBP's official invitation for Tun Dr Wan Junaidi to attend the Sarawak State Level ‘Forum Remaja Piala Tuan Yang Terutama’ that will be held this coming June.
"We also invited the Head of State and Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi to attend the Sarawak State Literature Award Ceremony (Majlis Anugerah Sastera Negeri Sarawak) which we will set the date for the end of this year.
"Next, we invited Tun Dr Wan Junaidi to be involved in the Syarahan Negarawan event in Kuala Lumpur later.
"In the Syarahan Negarawan series, we will summarise on Tun Dr Wan Junaidi’s tenure as a long-serving leader who was directly involved in the legal field as well his advice and views on law and constitutional matters," he said when met by reporters after the courtesy visit.
In this regard, Dr Hazami said that both Tun Dr Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan Fauziah had officially expressed their agreement to attend all the events.
In addition, the Sarawak Governor also gave advice and views on the matter of the implementation in making language a tool of unity and a basis for strengthening identity. -UKASnews
