KUCHING: Construction of the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) route has officially begun in Satok, with several areas already cleared.

Satok Assemblyman, Dato Ibrahim Baki said that several areas, particularly along Jalan Nanas, were inspected to ensure smooth progress for the construction of the route.

“One of the main objectives is to clean up the entire area to make it presentable. At the same time, the Padang Pasir area has been allocated, I believe, for the ART station, so we are preparing for that.

“As you know, the ART project is now progressing, and construction has started. The Padang Pasir area is part of the blue route, which is the purpose of this preparation,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters at the Goodie Bag Distribution Programme held in conjunction with Christmas celebrations at a local shop on Tuesday.

Additionally, Dato Ibrahim Baki emphasised the importance of maintaining the Christmas spirit to foster harmony and mutual respect among different races, religions, and cultures.

He highlighted that Sarawakians should preserve the tradition of open-house visits during all festivities, regardless of differences. -UKASnews
