KUCHING: All Sarawakians are encouraged to embrace the festive celebrations of Christmas and the arrival of the New Year 2025 as an opportunity to foster love and camaraderie, strengthening unity across all layers of society.

Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, emphasised that unity not only forms the foundation of strength in the region but also reflects Sarawak’s identity as a community united in diversity.

He highlighted that this spirit of inclusivity showcases to the world how differences in race, religion, and culture are celebrated as a source of beauty and enrichment, rather than a reason for division.

"The concept of inclusivity among various communities is a core strength of Sarawak’s society, embodying the values of 'one family.'

"I believe we have all become a family that consistently prioritises the welfare and needs of others.

"With the unwavering support of Sarawakians, I am confident that we will continue to live in harmony, respecting each other's cultures, lifestyles, and beliefs," he said in his Christmas and New Year 2025 message issued by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) on Tuesday.

Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi also expressed his gratitude to Sarawak's security personnel and other agencies involved in safeguarding the welfare of the people and maintaining the region’s stability, especially during the challenges of the northeast monsoon season.

Additionally, he extended his appreciation to educators and Sarawak’s civil servants for their dedication and collaboration in shaping the next generation and ensuring an efficient public administration system for Sarawak’s progress.

In concluding his message, he expressed hope for continued blessings and success for Sarawak in the coming year.

"Let us join hands to ensure Sarawak’s well-being remains under the protection of the Almighty.

"During this Christmas season, I also urge those travelling back to their hometowns to prioritise road safety, and for commercial vehicle drivers to adhere to regulations and drive carefully.

"Furthermore, let us care for our physical and mental well-being, ensuring the health of ourselves and our loved ones, so the new year brings greater joy and success.

"My wife, family, and I extend our warmest wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2025 to all the Sarawakians," he added. -UKASnews
