KUCHING: With the theme 'Love That Transforms Lives' , the joint Christmas Service 2024 organised by the Association of Churches in Sarawak (ACS) highlighted the role of God’s love in transforming human lives.

The ceremony, held at the Christian Ecumenical Worship Centre on Thursday, saw the participation of over 2,000 attendees, including leaders from other religious communities such as Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, and the Bahá'í Faith, symbolising religious harmony in Sarawak.

Bishop Datuk Danald, who led the event, emphasised that Christmas carries a message of love, hope, and unity, not only for the Christian community but for society as a whole.

As previously noted by Datuk Danald in a press conference, the celebration of Christmas goes beyond mere tradition; it serves as a reminder of God's all-encompassing love for humanity.

Throughout the event, various activities took place, including scripture readings in multiple languages, musical performances, choir presentations, and a sermon by the President of the Methodist Church SCAC, Rev. Dr. Lau Hui Ming.

Among the attendees were Batu Kitang Assemblyman, Dato Ir. Lo Khere Chiang, Archbishop Simon Poh, and congregants from various church associations across Kuching.-UKASnews
