KOTA SAMARAHAN: Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg along with thousands of visitors enlivened the Aidilfitri Open House of Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development, Datuk Rubiah Wang at the Kota Samarahan Civic Centre on Sunday.
Guests began to fill the grounds of the civic centre as early as 9 a.m. even though the open house only commenced at 10 a.m. and lasted until 3 p.m.
An estimated 7,000 people of various races, religions and backgrounds paid a visit to the Kota Samarahan Member of Parliament’s open house which, among others, helped in strengthening family ties and harmony among Sarawakians.
The distinguished guests and visitors were feted with a variety of food including local delicacies namely lemang, rendang, pulut, traditional kuih, and satay.
Meanwhile, during his visit, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari also took the opportunity to meet and greet the other visitors.
He also officiated a symbolic inauguration of the open house by cooking lemang and mixing rendang.
Also enlivening the open house were Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Professor Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Dato Sri Nancy Shukri, Sarawak Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performance Arts, Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Sarawak Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development, Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, Deputy Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly, Dato Idris Buang, Deputy Minister of Transport, Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, Stakan assemblyman, Datuk Hamzah Brahim, Batu Kitang assemblyman, Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang, Beting Maro assemblyman, Razaili Gapor, Tanjung Datu assemblyman, Azizul Annuar Adenan, and other guests. -UKASnews
