Yayasan Sarawak To Support Education Of Late Joanna’s Children

SERIAN: Concerned about the future of the two children of the late Joanna Felicia Rohna, the Sarawak government through Yayasan Sarawak will support the education of four-year-old Allesia Felice Haslie and one-year-old Hovannes Haslie. 

Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg said that both will be registered under Yayasan Sarawak where they will be supported up to their higher education.  

"I have told the father of this child, Haslie Ali, that his children's names will be registered in Yayasan Sarawak’s database, and their development will be monitored in terms of education. 

"Once their names are registered, we will get involved until the children continue their higher education," he said.

He said this when met by reporters after visiting the late Joanna’s family in Kampung Engkeroh Tebakang, here, on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari also handed over a donation of RM10,000 from the Sarawak government.

Also present were Sarawak State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, Sarawak Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development who is also Kedup assemblyman, Datuk Martin Ben, Serian Member of Parliament, Dato Sri Richard Riot Jaem, Tebedu assemblyman, Dr Simon Sinang Bada, Bukit Semuja assemblyman, John Ilus and Chief Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier, Fazzruddin Abdul Rahman.

The late Joanna was killed in an incident involving two helicopters that collided and crashed at the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) Base in Lumut, Perak last Tuesday. -UKASnews
