BINTANGOR: Various school programmes are set to be organised at SK Rentap Sg Baron in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration in 2025.

Meradong Assemblyman, Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, fully supported the proposals presented by the school's Headmaster, Azeman Akel during the school’s Year-End Banquet held at a restaurant on Sunday.

According to Datuk Ding, SK Rentap, with its majority Iban student population, will be the first school to host a Chinese New Year celebration.

He highlighted that celebrating diverse festivals at school provides students with an invaluable opportunity to deepen their understanding of different cultures and traditions.

Meanwhile, the SK Rentap Sg Baron Year-End Banquet, attended by teaching staff, served as a platform for the school community to express their gratitude to Datuk Ding for his significant contributions to the school’s infrastructure development.

These improvements include the construction of a multipurpose hall, upgrading the school’s main access road and adding parking facilities through the approval of the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) under the N.46 Meradong constituency. -UKASnews
