KUCHING: A total of 137 recipients were conferred Sarawak medals and honours by the Sarawak Governor, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at an investiture ceremony held at the Astana Negeri Sarawak, on Thursday.
The ceremony commenced with the conferment of the Pingat Jasa Keberanian Pingat Perwira Negeri (P.P.N.) (Gangsa) to seven recipients, namely Adni Iri, Benjamin Gersit Jais, Bong Chon Khui, Eugene Tay, Goh Yeaw Teong, Nichol Nyambang, and Hardison Doin @ Edwin.
Next, the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Pegawai Bintang Sarawak (P.B.S.) was awarded to four recipients, notably Chban @ Henry Chuban Jamban, James Batang Lang, Jagah @ Subeng Mula, and Patrick Sibon.
The Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K.) followed with honours given to 13 individuals, including Commander Sudin Wa, Supt. Ernest John, Professor Dr. Mohd Azlan Jayasilan Abdul Gulam Azad, Dr. Les Met, Ir. Ts. Jong Fung Swee, and Professor Dr. Muhd Hasnain Md Hussain.
After that, the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B.), was conferred upon 23 individuals, led by Supt. Samima Mustapha, Ts. Chai Lee Lin, Dr. Sharifah Fatimah Wan Jamel, Dr. Azilawati Banchit, and others.
The Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Sarawak (A.B.S.) was presented to 16 recipients, including Christopher Johem, Chong Nyuk Fah, Daily Joseph, and Donald Ruah.
Meanwhile, the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K.) was awarded to 17 recipients, including Tuai Rumah Ajun Lasa, Anthony Abell Chendan, Elen Mustapha @ Lai Ilen, and Johar @ Zahrah Japar.
Additionally, the Pingat Pentadbiran Awam Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T.) was granted to 32 individuals, among them were Sergeant Abnag Rili Abang Saadili, Sergeant Zulkarnain Ramat, Desmond Ahlim, Elizius Tan, Farid Mohammad, and Faizal Abu.
The ceremony concluded with the conferment of the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S.), to 25 recipients, led by Awang Masri Awang Hamdan, Alew Nyata, Abdul Khalid Abdul Rahim, and Andaraputera Senan.
Also present at the ceremony were wife of the Sarawak Governor, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier's Department (Law, MA63 and State-Federal Relations), Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali, and Deputy Sarawak Secretary (Administration), Datu Buckland Bangik. -UKASnews
