SARIKEI: The Career and Edication Day, along with Hari Terbuka Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD) Sarikei 2024, serves as a crucial platform to raise awareness about various educational and career opportunities.

This event aims to develop skilled individuals who can contribute meaningfully to the state and nation’s growth.

Member of Parliament for Tanjong Manis and Chairman of CIDB Malaysia, Ir. Yusuf Abd. Wahab, highlighted the importance of such programmes in guiding young people to plan their future paths early.

“Support from educational institutions, government agencies, and the community is vital to ensure the success of our younger generation,” he said.

He said this during his speech at the event held at Dewan Sentral Sarikei on Saturday.

The Tanjong Manis MP also expressed gratitude to Yayasan Sarawak for its continued support in advancing education and youth development in Sarikei.

The event featured participation from various educational institutions, including Universiti Teknologi Sarawak (UTS), Kolej Laila Taib, Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus, Curtin University Malaysia, Sarawak Skills (PPKS), and the Centre of Technical Excellence (CENTEXS) Betong.

The exhibitions provided students and parents with valuable information about education and career pathways.

As a show of support, Ir. Yusuf donated RM3,000 to the Sarikei PPD Recreational Association to help fund the event’s activities.
