YBhg. Dato Georgina Apphia Ngau, Director of UNIFOR, chaired an engagement session on audit readiness attended by Heads of Religions and representatives of Houses of Worship.
The session focused on key findings arising from recent audits conducted by the Internal Audit Unit, Department of the Premier of Sarawak, and the Treasury Department Sarawak.
These audits involved projects funded under UNIFOR’s annual grant assistance for Houses of Worship, reflecting the continued importance of transparency, accountability, and good governance in the management of public funds.
The discussion was constructive and forward-looking, addressing critical issues while outlining the necessary corrective actions and areas for improvement. UNIFOR, together with the Heads of Religions and representatives of Houses of Worship, shares a collective responsibility to ensure that every ringgit is managed prudently, utilised effectively, and aligned with its intended purpose.
