YBhg. Dato’ Georgina Apphia Ngau, together with officers from Unit Hal Ehwal Agama-agama Lain (UNIFOR), attended the Opening Ceremony of the San Seng Tong Culture & Education Centre, organised by the San Seng Tong Buddhist Association, held at the San Seng Tong Culture & Education Centre, Kuching.
The ceremony was graced by YB Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Deputy Premier of Sarawak, as the Guest of Honour.
The newly completed San Seng Tong Culture & Education Centre is a modern four-storey facility with a total construction cost of approximately RM20 million. The centre is equipped with a wide range of functional spaces, including children’s and youth education activity centres, multi-purpose halls, a meditation hall, and a sutra transcription hall.
The overall spatial planning reflects a comprehensive and inclusive educational blueprint designed to serve all age groups — children, youths, adults and seniors alike. It caters to diverse needs in learning, personal cultivation, cultural exchange and community engagement, reflecting a strong commitment to lifelong learning and holistic development.
Upon completion, the San Seng Tong Culture & Education Centre is poised to become a key cultural and educational hub, as well as an important exchange platform for the local community and beyond, contributing meaningfully to social harmony, cultural preservation and inter-community understanding in Sarawak.
